During the Eastern Han Dynasty, after Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu ascended the throne, he understood that the common people yearned for peace and did not want to see more wars. Therefore, he decreed that discussions of war were forbidden throughout the country.
He diligently managed state affairs, often discussing governance strategies with his ministers. He would work until late into the night before going to bed.
The crown prince, seeing his father's arduous efforts, felt concerned about his excessive toil. However, Emperor Guangwu replied that he took great pleasure in his work and did not feel tired at all.
