During the Zhou Dynasty, Chang Hong, a high-ranking official under Duke Liu Wen, remained loyal to the court throughout his life. He was neither humble nor arrogant, possessing a spirit of integrity. Due to his uprightness, he offended influential figures in the court and was unjustly executed by the Zhou people.
Legend has it that at the time of his execution, someone, admiring his character, collected his blood and hid it at home. Three years later, all the dried blood clots transformed into green jade.
